A reprint of the Breeches Bible, first published in 1579, Genesis Chapter III Verse 7 reads: “Then the eies of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and they sewed figge tree leaves together, and made themselves breeches. This was changed to “aprons” in the King James Bible of 1611. Contains “The Genealogies Recorded in the Sacred Scriptures, According to every Famiyl [Family] and Tribe. With The Line of our Saviour Jesus Christ observed from Adam to the blessed Virgin Mary by J. S.” [John Speed] bound at the front with a map of Canaan also by John Speed. The Old Testament and the New Testament each with separate title pages with decorative woodcut borders. Also contains an incomplete copy of The Book of Psalms and The Concordance with manuscript genealogy (Robinson family 1765-1824) to verso of title page which is continued on the front pastedown. Black letter type in double column throughout. Four loose leaves to rear are last pages of another Concordance published in 1609 by Robert Barker.
